Fair Haven had its 4th annual Fish Challenge Sat. Aug. 25th.  It was bigger and better this year with 54 boats participating and well over 175 fishermen.  The challenge was to catch the heaviest combined weight of five fish.  The other big prize was to hook on to the biggest fish or called the Lunker pool . The Capt.Dave Antoneri and his two mates Joe Nojick and Lee Poole won both challenges.  The combined weight of their five fish was 102.56 and the lunker pool fish weighed in at 24.5 lbs. Second place boat was Lightning with 102.19 lbs and third boat was Hat Trick with 96.25 lbs. of fish.

 

The contest began at 6 AM and weigh ins were held at 3 PM.  Everyone was tired but the fishing was pretty good.

 

Anchor Marina, Popeye Charters, Screwy Louie's Sport Shop, A-Tom-Mik Flys, and Pro-Troll saw to it there were door prizes for everyone.  The food and beverages were provided by the Fair Haven Chamber of Commerce.

 

This is a growing activity that brings a lot of people from NJ, PA., Mass. and Ontario Canada  to Fair Haven.  A great time was had by all.
